Applying for Anthem Blue Cross Medical Insurance was a NIGHTMARE and I am perfectly healthy too. For me, they told me I was approved but for a much higher rate, when I asked why, it turned out they had given me the wrong person’s information. They also sent that person my information. Finally after 3 months and many people working on my behalf, I was approved!
Since having that insurance, I have paid more for my medical appointments than my insurance coverage. I would have been better off paying for it completely out of pocket. Plus they have basically doubled my insurance rate since I was approved despite developing no new medical disorders.
I assume if anything horrific happened to me, I will be happy with this insurance, that is, until they send the “I’m sorry we don’t cover live threatening acts of God and hospitalization” letter to the wrong address.
When people say there is nothing wrong with insurance today, maybe they shouldn’t be so quick to reject the perfectly healthy people who just want to be covered in case of the 1 in a 1,000,000th chance they get run over.
